  • Understand and practice fundamental windsurfing techniques

We are using the XL board size (L-boardshape with XL center fin) combined with a smaller Dynamic sail on our beginner classes. Read more

XL level  performed in eXtra Light winds ( ~ below 10 knots with XL shape)

This course is of big importance since it builds the base from which your technique can develop onward. With a solid base the specific technics will become better.  The XL-courses will help you:

  • Sail properly in all directions (upwind, sidewind, downwind)
  • Get a better understanding of wind shifts and how you can benefit from these in your sailing.
  • Learn Lightwind jibes and how to tack with same technique regardless of wind strength and board size.
  • Understand how your stance effects your sailing
  • Learn lightwind pump techniques which will make you go faster and even be able to get home if wind dissapear totally, pumping will also turn your windsurfing session into a great work out ( especially cardio  and upper body).
  • Learn how to rig and trim the sail
  • Get introduced to harness sailing

The XL shape uses a centerfin to make upwind sailing efficient, read more

L level Light winds (~10-20 knots with L board shape)

The L level is focuses on the following topics:

  • Use passive but effective technique to get into planning already in lighter winds.
  • Learn how to adjust your stance during sailing according to windstrength.
  • Sail with harness to get stronger and be able to use larger sails and make longer sessions.
  • Learn to handle larger sails
  • Easy bear of from the beach by beach starting technique.
  • Get introduced to footstraps by using the inner foot straps on the DW board
  • Learn how to go upwind effectively when wind drops, sailing in non planning without centerfin/daggerboard
  • Learn how to set up the equipment to take full advantage of this board shapes great planing abilities.

Just a small gust of wind will accelerate the L board onto the surface of the water(plane) and enable speeds exceeding 15 knots. Read more

M level Medium winds (~ 15-25 knots with M board shape )

At this level we focus on full planning conditions.
– Sail in high speed with total control, foot stear the board with feet in the footstraps.
– Pop up from the water by smooth water starts.
– Sail the board with fin pressure, handle tail ride and be able to point high going upwind full planing or going deep downwind with control avoiding catapults.
Actively pump the board into planing
– Carve the board with full speed into the jibes.
– Set up gear for high speed sailing, fine tune between power and control.

The M-board’s shape gives full planing capabilities, great response and fast turns. M is perfect for advanced and intermediate sailors in medium winds.

S level Strong winds ( ~ above 20 knots with S board shape)

As wind increases so do also waves and at this level we focus more on how to deal with the waves and how to handle the small boardshape.
Sail with control and safety in strong winds. With the S-shape you will ride smooth even in rough conditions where a bigger board shape will be to bumpy.
You will manage planing jibes.

Manage to sail in huge waves and handle shore breaks, control the board when getting airborne, surf the breaks and stay in control of the situation, keeping you and the gear safe, when fall in water and hit by huge shore breaks.

Understand how to set up the gear for control or more action.
Use your technique to get even more control then manage sailing when dusty and sometimes really overpowered.
S is shaped like a classic sinker and demands precision in both foot placement and overall sailing technique. Read more

Stand Up Paddel as complement  to windsurfing (with paddel + L-shape)

Learn the basic techniques to maneuver the board with a paddel. Paddel long distance to explore nature / as a work out or play in the waves similar to a surf board balancing and stearing with the paddel.

Perfect complement to windsurfing when the wind is all gone.
